Taiwan Day 2: Yangmingshan National Park and National Palace Museum (대만 두째날: 양명산 국립공원과 국립고궁박물관)

양명산 국립공원(Yangmingshan National Park) (陽明山國家公園)

양명산 국립공원은 타이베이와 신베이시에 위치한 대만의 9개 국립공원 중 하나입니다. 이 공원은 벚꽃, 온천, 유황 퇴적물, 분기공, 하이킹 코스로 유명합니다. (평점 4*)

Yangmingshan National Park (양명산 국립공원(陽明山國家公園))

Yangmingshan National Park is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan, located in both Taipei and New Taipei City. The park is known for its cherry blossoms, hot springs, sulfur deposits, fumaroles and hiking trails. (Review 4*)

꽃시계

우리가 방문한 첫 번째 장소는 이 공원에서 가장 잘 알려진 관광 명소인 꽃시계입니다. 아름다운 계절 꽃들로 시계처럼 보이고 작동하도록 디자인된 것이 특징입니다. 양명산을 방문하면 여기에서 사진을 찍는 것은 필수입니다. 대부분의 방문객은 꽃시계를 보기위해 오지만, 저희는 벚꽃 등 여러 꽃들이 만발한 아름다운 주변 지역을 정말 즐겼습니다.

The Flower Clock

The first place we visited is the most well-known tourist spot in the park which is the flower clock. It features beautiful seasonal flowers designed to look and act like a clock. If you visit Yangmingshan, it’s a must-see to take a picture here. Most visitors come for the flower clock, but we really enjoyed the surrounding area which was beautiful with the cherry blossom.

샤오유켄 (小油坑)

다음은 냄새가 진동하는 곳입니다. 중국어로 '小油坑'이라고하는 샤오유켄은 문자 그대로 '작은 온천수가 솟아나는 동굴'을 의미합니다. 이곳은 화산 지질학적 특징들로 가득한 경치 좋은 지역으로, 약 805m 높이에 위치해 있습니다. 이곳에는 화산 활동의로 분기공이 형성되었고, 유황 결정과 붕괴된 지형들이 이 지역의 특징입니다. 이곳의 유황 냄새는 매우 강하고, 분기공에 가까이 다가가면 지열을 쉽게 느낄 수 있습니다.

샤오유켄의 주차장은 또한 칠성산(七星山) 정상으로 가는 산책로 시작점역할을 합니다. 산 정상까지 하이킹을 할 수는 없더라도, 멋진 경치를 보기 위해 샤오유켄 산책로 전망대까지 하이킹을 하세요.

Xiaoyoukeng

Next stop is a smelly place. Xiaoyoukeng, which is read as ‘小油坑’ in Chinese characters, literally means ‘a cave where small hot spring water gushes out’. It is a scenic area full of volcanic geological features and is situated about 805 meters high. Fumaroles have been formed here as a result of the effects of volcanism, and sulfur crystal and collapsed terrain are characteristic of the area. The smell of sulfur here is very intense and the geothermal heat can be easily felt as you draw closer to the fumaroles.

The parking lot at Xiaoyoukeng also serves as the trailhead to the peak of Qixingshan (七星山). Even though you may not hike to the top of mountain, you may want to hike to the Xiaoyoukeng trail observation deck for the taste of scenery.

주즈후 지역의 "공식" 칼라 백합 농장들을 방문하려면 약간의 입장료가 있습니다. 하지만 우리 운전자는 칼라 백합을 재배하는 개인 농장으로 저희들을 데리고 갔습니다 (운전자가 주인을 알고 있었기 때문에 무료였습니다).

If you visit the "official" Calla lily farm in Zhuzihu area, there is a small entrance fee. But our driver took us to a private farm which grows Calla Lilies (free since the driver knew the owner).

Zhuzihu Black Forest(竹子湖黑森林)

이곳은 키가 큰 중국 전나무와 잎이 무성한 양치류가 우거진 울창한 숲입니다. 나무 사이의 틈새로 비치는 햇살이 긴 그림자들을 만들어 꼭 산 속의 신비로운 원더랜드를 상상케 합니다. 분홍색과 빨간색 돌로 지어진 하트가 있는데, 로맨스와 사랑을 상징합니다. 이곳은 새 커플들이 결혼 사진을 찍는 인기 있는 장소라고 들었습니다. 도로에 가깝지만 매우 조용하고 고요한 순간을 보내기에 좋은 장소이며 쉬고 갈만한 가치가 있습니다. 지정된 주차장이 없어 도로에 주차해야하니 조심하세요.

Zhuzihu Black Forest (竹子湖黑森林)

The place is a dense forest of tall Chinese fir trees and leafy ferns. The sun shining through gaps in the trees creates long shadows, giving the forest a mystic wonderland in the mountain. There’s a heart built with pink and red stones that symbolizes romance and love. We were told that this is a popular spot for couples taking wedding photos. The place is a very quiet even though it is close to the road and it is very much worth for a tranquil moment. Since there is no designated parking lot, you have to park on the road.

양밍산 중산 홀 근처의 벚꽃 명소

양밍산 중산 홀이 더 유명한 관광지이기는 하지만, 사쿠라 명소에는 훨씬 더 많은 군중이 모여 있었습니다. 벚꽃 시즌에는 양밍산 중산 홀보다는 이곳이 더 벚꽃을 즐길 수 있는 장소인 것 같군요.

Sakura spot near Yangmingshan Zhongshan Hall

Even though Yangmingshan Zhongshan Hall is better known tourist spot, there were a lot more crowd at Sakura Spot. During the cherry blossom season, I assume this is the place to enjoy the cherry blossom rather than Yangmingshan Zhongshan Hall.

양밍산 국립공원을 방문하는 데 4시간을 계획했지만, 몆군데를 더 볼려면 한 두 시간은 더 예정해야 할 것 같습니다. 그리고 타이베이에서 공원으로 가는 교통은 주중이었는데도 엄청 복잡했어요. 꽃 피는 계절에 공원을 방문하면 치러야 할 대가였겠죠.

We planned for 4 hours to visit the Yangmingshan National Park, but we could spend another couple hours to visit the places we missed. And the traffic to the park from Taipei was heavy even though it was during the weekday. I guess that was a price you pay visiting the park in the middle of the flower blossom season.

국립고궁박물관(國立故博物院)

운영시간: 오전 9시 ~ 오후 5시(화~일), 월요일 휴관

국립고궁박물관은 70만 개가 넘는 고대 중국 유물을 보관하고 있으며, 그 중 다수는 중국 황제가 수집한 것으로, 세계에서 가장 많은 수집품을 소장하고 있는 박물관 중 하나입니다. 이 국가적 보물들은 중국 국민당이 내전 중에 대만으로 피난할 때 베이징의 자금성에서 옮겨졌습니다. 국립고궁박물관은 규모가 크고 지역별 분관도 있지만, 이 모든 문화 유물을 한 번에 전시하기에는 규모가 작습니다. 그래서 불가피하게 소장품들을 교대로 전시하고 있습니다. 믿든 말든, 대만 사람들은 여러분들이 평생 동안 봐도 모든 소장픔을 볼 수 없을 것이라고 자랑스러워 합니다.

박물관은 거대하고 항상 붐비고, 소장품은 중국이나 대만의 역사를 전하기 위해 배치된 것이 아니고 놀라운 예술 작품을 보여주기 위해 전시되어 있기 때문에 어떤 순서로 볼것인가 전략을 세워야 합니다. 관객들 흐름에 따라가는 대신, 전시 안내 책자를 보고, 먼저 보고 싶은 전시품을 우선순위로 정하세요. 이 박물관의 유명 전시품인 비취 양배추(翠玉白菜)와 육형석(肉刑石)을 놓치지 마세요. 하지만, 이 유명한 전시품 주변은 제대로 사진 찍기가 힘들 정도로 정말 붐빕니다. 우리는 오후 내내 박물관에서 보냈지만, 많은 것을 놓친 것 같은 기분 이었습니다. 우리는 박물관 안에 있는 카페테리아에서 점심을 먹었습니다. 레드와인으로 만든 쇠고기 스튜 (280대만 달러)와 공바오 치킨 라이스 (280대만 달러)를 주문했습니다. 아마도 박물관 음식에 대한 우리의 기대가 낮았었는지 음식 맛도 괜찮았습니다. 식당은 자리를 기다릴 정도로 손님들로 매우 붐볐습니다.

We had a lunch at the cafeteria at the museum. We ordered Beef Stew in red wine (NT$280) and 

Gong Bao Chicken Rice (NT$280). Maybe our expectation was low for the food at the museums, but he food was decent. The the place was crowded and we had to wait for the table.

National Palace Museum (國立故宮博物院)

Hours: 9:00 A – 5:00 P (Tu - Sun), closed on Monday

Admission: Regular: NT$350

The museum is home to over 700,000 ancient Chinese artifacts, many of which were collected by China’s emperors, making it one of the largest collections in the world. These national treasures were moved from Beijing’s Forbidden City when the Chinese Nationalist Party retrieved to Taiwan during the Chinese Civil War. While the National Palace Museum is enormous and also has regional branches, it is not big enough to exhibit all these cultural relics at once. Inevitably, they adopted a rotation system. Believe it or not, the Taiwanese proudly say you won’t be able to see all of them exhibited through your lifetime.

Because the museum is huge and always crowded, and the collections are not arranged to tell Chinese or Taiwanese history rather to showcases these amazing works of art, you need to have strategies in place. Instead of going with the flow, look at the exhibit brochure and prioritize which collections you want to see first. Don’t miss the stars of this museum: Jadeite Cabbage (翠玉白菜) and Meat-shaped Stone (肉刑石). But, it is really crowded around the famous attractions and have a patient to take a good picture. Even though we spent the whole afternoon at the museum, we felt we missed a lot of things. (Review 4*)

교통:

인터넷을 검색하여 하루 반 동안 개인 가이드/운전자를 고용했습니다. 우리는 계약 기간 동안 방문하고 싶은 장소를 운전사와 상의하여 결정하였습니다. 우리는 양밍산 국립공원(반나절)과 예류 지질공원, 지우펀, 대만 포로 기념관, 스펀 폭포(하루)를 방문하는 데 동의했습니다. 예상대로 운전사는 선호하는 상점과 레스토랑을 몇 군데 추천해 주었지만, 좋은 사진을 찍을 장소도 알려주었습니다. 게다가 우리가 혼자갔으면 모르고 놓쳤을 장소들로 우리를 데려갔습니다. 어떤 장소들은 만날 약속 시간을 정한 후 우리들 자유대로 돌아다닐 수 있었습니다. 그는 또한 스스로 사진을 찍어 여행이 끝난 후에 우리에게 공유해 주었습니다. 우리는 교통에 대해 걱정할 필요가 없었고 시간 절약 때문에 요금이 합리적이라고 생각했습니다.

Transportation:

We have hired a private guide/driver for one and half day by searching the internet. We did work out with the drive for the places we want to visit for the given time duration. We agreed for the visits to Yangmingshan National Park (half day) and Yehliu Geopark, Jiufen, Taiwan POW memorial and Shifen Waterfall (a day). As we expected, the driver suggested some of preferred shops and restaurants, but he also pointed out the places to take good pictures. Furthermore, he took us to places we may have missed if we were alone. We were also able to roam around on our own with the agreed time to meet. He also took pictures on his own and shared with us at the end of the trip. We thought the fee was reasonable since we did not have to concern with transportation and the time we saved.
