통화야시장(린장제 야시장)

시간: 매일 오후 6시부터 오전 12시까지.

린장제 야시장(Linjiang Street Night Market)으로도 알려진 통화 야시장(Tonghua Night Market)은 타이페이에서 가장 작은 규모의 야시장 중 하나입니다. 통화야시장은 관광객보다는 현지인들이 더 선호하는 곳이며 맛있는 길거리 음식의 메카입니다. 방문하기 가장 좋은 시간은 군중은 줄어들지만 여전히 활기가 넘치는  오후 8시 이후입니다. 모든 음식 가판대는 아직 열려있지만 기다리는 줄은 피크 시간보다 짧기 때문이지요. 우리는 보통 관광객들이 하듯이 시장을 돌아다니면서 여러 가지 흥미롭게 보이는 음식들을 먹어보았습니다. 홍림철판소

원하는 것을 메뉴판에서 골라 주문하면 볶아서 주는 식당입니다. 저희는 새우을 주문했는데 양배추, 새우, 숙주나물을 볶아서 내놓네요. 음식은 간이 약간 싱겁긴했지만 특이한 경험을 한 것 같네요. 음료수는 셀푸에 무한리필입니다.

Honglim Iron Plate

You select the dishes you want on the paper menu. We choose the shrimp and they served the stir-fried cabbage, shrimp and bean sprouts. The food was a little bland, but it was an unique experience. The water was self serve and unlimited.

Tonghua Night Market (Linjiang Street Night Market)

Hours: 6 PM to 12 AM daily.

Tonghua Night Market, otherwise known as Linjiang Street Night Market, is one of the smallest top night markets in Taipei. This market is favored by locals rather than tourists and is a mecca of delicious street food. The best time to visit is after 8 PM. You’ll find less of a crowd, but it’ll still be lively. All the food stalls will be there and the lines will be shorter than peak hours. We have tried several tempting foods as we were wondering around the market as a tourist does. (Review 3*)

국립 쑨원 박사 기념관

※ 저희들이 들린날 강당은 현재 보수 공사로 인해 휴관 중 이었습니다. 그런데 언제 다시 개장하는지 아무 게시가 없었습니다.

쑨원 기념관은 1972년 장개석 총통이 국부을 기리기 위해 건립한 기념관입니다. 쑨원 박사는 중화민국의 초대 대통령이자 중국 국민당의 초대 지도자였습니다. 그는 현대 중국의 건국의 아버지이며, 대만에서는 종종 “국부(國父)”라고 불립니다. 건물은 중국 궁전의 구조에서 영감을 받아 웅장하고 아름답습니다. 본관은 길고 구불구불한 현관으로 둘러싸여 있습니다. 이 홀에는 그의 삶과 신해혁명의 혁명적 성취에 관한 많은 기념물이 전시되어 그 이상으로 공연장, 강당, 30만 권 이상의 책을 소장한 도서관이 있습니다. 매년 금마장 영화제 및 시상식(일명 대만 오스카)과 같은 문화 전시 및 행사가 열리는 장소이기도 합니다.

National Dr. Sun-Yat Sen Memorial Hall (國父紀念館)

Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall was established in 1972 by President Chiang Kai-shek as a tribute to the Father of the Nation. Dr. Sun Yat-Sen was the first president of the Republic of China and the first leader of the Chinese Nationalist Party. He is the founding father of modern China and often referred to as the “Father of the Nation” in Taiwan. The building is inspired by the structure of Chinese palace. It is grand and beautiful. The main building is surrounded by a long winding porch. The hall contains many exhibitions about his life and revolutionary accomplishments from the Xinhai Revolution. But it is more than just a monument; there is a performance hall, an auditorium and a library with more than 300,000 books. It has become a place for cultural exhibits and events such as the annual Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards (a.k.a. Taiwanese Oscar).

송산문화창의원구 (松山文創園區)

송산문화창의원구는 타이페이 신이구 최대 규모의 창작 예술 공간으로 원래 이 단지는 대만 최초의 현대화된 담배 공장이었습니다. 일본이 1937년에 담배 공장을 설립했고 이후 대만 전매국이 이를 인수하여 운영하다 1998년에 생산을 중단했습니다. 2001년에 타이베이시 정부에 의해 제99호 문화유산으로 지정 되었습니다. 2011년 타이베이시는 이 오래된 공장을 창고, 담배 공장, 검사실, 바로크 양식 정원 등 원래 건축물을 유지하면서 6.6헥타르 규모의 도시 공원으로 전환했습니다. 이제 이 “타이페이 창작 허브”는 지역 예술가들의 혁신적인 예술 공간이자 공연 및 전시 장소로 기능하고 있습니다. 이 단지에는 대만 디자인 박물관도 자리해 있습니다.

다양한 대만산 공예품과 기념품을 구경하고 쇼핑할 수 있는 매장이 많이 있습니다. 수공품인 액세서리부터 캔버스 백, 문구류까지 다양합니다. 가격은 약간 비싼 편이고 방문객은 대부분 원하는 물건들을 구입하러 온 사람들이었습니다. (평가 2*)

Songshan Cultural Creative Park

Hours: 9 am – 6 pm

Admission: Free

Songshan Cultural Creative Park is the largest creative arts space in Taipei’s Xinyi District. The complex was the first modernized tobacco factory in Taiwan. The Japanese established the tobacco factory in 1937 and the Taiwan Monopoly Bureau later took it over until it ceased the production in 1998. In 2001, the site became the No.99 cultural heritage site by the Taipei City Government. In 2011, the Taipei City converted this old factory into a 6.6-hectare urban park while keeping its original architecture – including warehouses, cigarette plant, inspection room and the Baroque-style garden. Now this “Creative Hub of Taipei” serves as innovative art space by local artists and a venue for performances and exhibits. The complex also houses the Taiwan Design Museum.

There are many store to look and shop a variety of Made-in-Taiwan crafts and souvenirs, from handmade accessories to canvas bags to stationery. The price was on a little high end and the visitors were mostly to buy some specific items. (Review 2*)

성품 송산 (Eslite Songyan)

성품 서점은 대만에서 가장 큰 소매 서점 체인 중 하나입니다. 성품 송산 매장은 송산문화창의원구에 위치한 성품 스펙트럼에 있습니다. 성품 스펙트럼은 서점 이상으로 쇼핑몰에 가깝습니다. 각 층에는 엄선된 책과 차, 소규모 공예품과 선물, 부티크 패션, 고급 음식점들이 있습니다. (평가 2*)

Eslite Songyan

Hours: 11 A – 10 P

Eslite is one of the largest retail bookstore chains in Taiwan. Eslite's Songyan is located in the Eslite Spectrum in the Song­shan Cultural and Creative Park. It is much more than a bookstore and more of a shopping mall. Each floor features a curated collection of books and tea, small crafts and gifts, boutique fashions, and gourmet food stalls.  

The famous Eslite Xinyi store was closed at the end of 2023 and Eslite Songsan is open for 24 hours in place of Eslite Xinyi. (Review 2*)

십십 바 & 레스토랑 (SipSip Bar & Restaurant)

화산 1914 창조 공원

영업시간: 오후 12시 - 오후 10시

신맛과 매콤한 새우맛이 나는 인도식 바삭한 볼 케이크, 안젤리카 무시 해산물 얇은 국수, 레몬소금 마요네즈를 곁들인 탕양치킨

우리는 파니푸리 새콤달콤한 새우와 안젤리카 폼 씨푸드 링귀니를 주문했습니다. 음식은 우리가 레스토랑을 찾는 데 들인 노력만큼 맛있지 않았습니다. 아마도 좋은 리뷰에 대한 기대가 너무 컸던것 같네요. 작은 레스토랑이었지만 직원들은 친절했고 음식은 오래 기다리지 않았습니다. (평가 2*)

SipSip Bar & Restaurant

Huashan 1914 Creative Park

Hour: 12 P - 10 P

We ordered Panipuri Sour and Spicy Shrimp and Angelica Foam Seafood Linguine. The food wasn't as tasty as for the effort we put to find the restaurant. Maybe our expectation was too high with good review. It was a small restaurant, but the staff was polite and the food were served promptly. (Review 2*)

화산 1914 문화 창조 공원 (華山1914文創園區)

현대식 고층빌딩이 빽빽이 들어선 타이베이 시내 한복판에 자리한 이 독특한 건물은 눈길을 끄는 여행지이다. 1914년에 지어진 건물로 일제강점기에는 양조장으로 사용됐었다. 1980년대 후반까지 운영되다가 폐쇄됐다가 2007년 대만 정부에 의해 문화예술공간으로 탈바꿈했다.

한때 창고로 사용되었던 건물은 현재 각종 전시장으로 사용되고 있으며, 건물 곳곳에 아기자기한 상점과 바, 카페가 즐비해 관광객들에게 매우 인기 있는 여행지로 자리잡고 있다. 외관은 1914년에 사용된 공장을 연상케 하지만, 건물 내부에는 현대적인 상점들이 즐비해 대만의 과거와 현재를 경험할 수 있는 매력적인 여행지이다. (평가 3*)

Huashan 1914 Creative Park

In the middle of downtown Taipei, where modern tall buildings are densely lined up, this unique building is an eye-catching travel destination. This building was built in 1914 and was used as a brewery during the Japanese colonial era. It operated until the late 1980s, then closed and was transformed into a culture and arts park by the Taiwanese government in 2007.

The building that was once used as a warehouse is currently used as a various exhibition hall, and there are cute shops, bars, and cafes throughout the building, making it a very popular travel destination among tourists. The exterior looks like a factory used in 1914, but inside the building is a variety of modern shops, making it an attractive travel destination where you can experience Taiwan's past and present. 장개석 기념관

근위병 교대식은 오전 9시부터 5시까지 매시 정각에 진행됩니다.

아름다운 자유 광장에 위치한 장개석(CKS) 기념관은 타이베이에서 방문해야 할 상징적인 장소로 알려져 있습니다. 장개석은 중화민국의 대통령으로서 대만을 통치한 중국 국민당의 정치 및 군사 지도자였습니다. 그러나 장개석은 대만 역사상 가장 논란이 많은 인물 중 한 명입니다. 

팔각형 모양의 이 건물 양식은 중국 문화에서 부와 행운을 상징하는 8을  상징하는 것이며, 건축물의 색상인 흰색, 파란색, 빨간색은 중화민국의 국기와 일치합니다. 앞 뒤의 89개의 계단은 장개석이 사망했을 당시의 나이를 나타냅니다. 내부의 장개석 청동상은 링컨 기념관의 링컨 동상과 비슷하게 만들어 졌습니다.

CKS 기념관 외에도 자유 광장에는 주목할 만한 두 개의 다른 건물이 있습니다. 정교하게 장식된 전통 중국 건축 양식을 따라 지어진 국립 콘서트 홀과 국립 극장입니다.

이 곳를 가장 잘 볼 수 있는 곳은 장개석 청동상이 있는 곳에서 정문으로 이어지는 잘 가꾸어진 정원과 양쪽에 있는 국립극장과 국립콘서트홀을 내려다 보는 것입니다. 이 건물의 웅장한 규모는 잠깐 들러볼 만한 가치가 있지만, 내부의 전시는 텅 빈 느낌을 주었습니다. (리뷰 2*)

CKS Memorial Hall (中正紀念堂）

The changing of the guard ceremony happens on the hour every hour from 9-5.

Located in the beautiful Liberty Square, Chiang Kai-shek (CKS) Memorial Hall is an iconic place to visit in Taipei. Chiang Kai-shek was a political and military leader of the Chinese Nationalist Party, who ruled Taiwan as President of the Republic of China. But, Chiang is one of the most controversial figures in Taiwan’s history.

In Chinese culture, 8 symbolizes wealth and good luck, which explains the octagonal shape of the building. The colors of the architecture – white, blue and red – match the flag of the Republic of China. The two sets of 89 steps represent Chiang’s age upon his death. The Chiang Kai-shek’s bronze statue inside was intended to resemble the Lincoln statue in Lincoln Memorial.

Besides the CKS Memorial Hall, the Liberty Square also houses two other buildings to note: the National Concert Hall and the National Theater. Both are elaborately adorned traditional Chinese architecture.

The best view of place is from the Chiang’s seat, overlooking the well-manicured garden leading to the main gate in the center and flanked by the National Theatre and National Concert Hall. The grand size of the place is worth a quick stop, but the display inside gave the empty feeling. (Review 2*)

용산사 (Longshan Temple)

롱산사는 대만에서 가장 유명한 예배 장소 중 하나입니다. 1738년 푸젠성에서 온 정착민들이 지은 사찰은 대만에서 가장 오래된 사찰 중 하나입니다. 이곳은 건립 이래 대만으로 이주한 사람들의 영적 중심지였습니다. 내부에는 이 나라의 다양한 종교 유산을 반영하는 수백 개의 불교, 도교, 유교 조각상이 있습니다. 이 아름다운 사찰은 정교한 장식, 폭포, 연못을 갖추고 있어 방문할 가치가 있으며, 특히 야경이 아름답습니다. (평가 4*)

Longshan Temple (龍山寺)

Hours: 6 am – 10 pm

Admission: Free

Longshan Temple is one of Taiwan’s best-known sites of worship. Built in 1738 by settlers from Fujian, it’s one of the country’s oldest temples. It has been the spiritual center for immigrants to Taiwan since its establishment. Inside there are hundreds of Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian statues, reflecting the country’s varied religious heritage. This gorgeous temple features elaborated decorations, a waterfall and a pond, making it worthwhile to visit, especially the night view. (Review 4*)

보피랴오 역사 지구

보필리아오 커뮤니티는 청나라 초기에 처음 형성되었습니다. 그 이후로 대만이 청나라, 일본 식민지 시대, 2차 세계 대전 이후 초기까지 다양한 시대를 거치면서 변하였습니다. 가장 번영한 지역 중 하나인 멍자에 위치한 보피랴오의 건축물은 지나간 시기의 다양한 문화를 반영합니다. 이 지역은 한때 번성했던 멍자를 독특하게 보여주고 있습니다.

2000년대 초, 타이베이 시 정부는 아치형 베란다와 적갈색 벽돌 벽을 통해 이 지역의 역사적 건축물을 복원하기 위해 노력했습니다. 이 오래된 건물은 멍자아의 발전을 목격했으며 현재는 문화 및 교육 랜드마크가 되었습니다.

Bopiliao Historic Block

The community of Bopiliao was firstly formed back in the early Qing Dynasty. Since then, its history evolves as Taiwan went through different era, from Qing Dynasty, Japanese colonization, to early Post World War II period. Situated in one of the most prosperous areas, Mengjia, architecture in Bopiliao reflects different culture of which it was built. The area is uniquely representative of once flourishing Mengjia.

In the early 2000s, the Taipei City government worked to restore the historic architecture of the area shown through arching verandas and red-brown brick walls. These old buildings witnessed the development of Mengjia and now have become a cultural and educational landmark.       

들리고 싶었던 곳이지만 너무 늦어 포기한 곳:

시먼(시먼딩) 산책,'타이페이의 하라주쿠'

대만은 1895년부터 1945년까지 일본에 의해 점령되었으며 이러한 영향은 오늘날에도 여전히 느껴집니다. 시먼딩은 "타이베이의 하라주쿠"로 알려져 있으며 젊은이들이 최신 유행 패션을 선보이기 위해 모여드는 곳입니다. 이 지역을 돌아다니며 독특한 부티크를 둘러보는 것은 정말 재미있는 타이페이 경험입니다. 또한 시먼은 길거리 음식과 트렌디한 레스토랑으로 가득합니다. 

The place we wanted to visit, but missed because of time:

Ximen (Ximending), the “Harajuku of Taipei”

Taiwan was occupied by the Japanese between 1895-1945 and this influence can still be felt today. Ximending is known as the “Harajuku of Taipei” because it’s a place where young people flock to showcase the latest extravagant fashions that they’re rocking. Wandering around the area and exploring its eccentric boutiques is a super fun Taipei experience. Ximen is full of street food and trendy restaurants.

코끼리 산 (象山)

저희는 저녁 식사 후 저녁에 도착했지만, 오후 늦게 하이킹을 시작하여 산 꼭대기에서 낮 경치와  멋진 일몰을 감상할 수 있습니다. 코끼리 산 하이킹 시작은 다소 가파르고 좁은 계단(약 600계단)입니다. 그러나 정상에서 바라보는 타이베이의 경치는 타이베이의 상징적인 타이베이 101을 포함하여 매우 아름답습니다. 산 꼭대기까지 올라 가는 것이 힘들다면 산책로 중간 중간에서 휴식을 취하며 멋진 전망을 감상하세요.

올라가는 동안 많은 계단을 올라야 하지만, 산의 많은 테라스에서 바라보는 전망은 그만한 가치가 있습니다. (평가 4*)

You’ll be tackling a lot of stairs on your way up, but the views from the mountain’s many terraces are well worth it.

Elephant Mountain

Even though we arrived in the evening after dinner, you may start hiking during the late afternoon to catch daytime and stunning sunset views from the top of the mountain. The start of the Elephant Mountain hike is rather a steep, narrow stairways (about 600 steps). The view from the top is beautiful with the stunning view of Taipei including the iconic Taipei 101. But, if you may not want to hike all the way, just take a break along the trail and enjoy the gorgeous views. (Review 4*)

용강거리 (Yongkang Street)

우리는 코끼리 산에서 내려온 후 용강거리로 향했습니다. 용강가는 타이베이에서 가장 유명한 음식가 중 하나이며 세계적으로 유명한 딘타이펑 본점도 여기에 있습니다. 붉은 잠자리 식당에서 저녁을 먹은 후 너무 배가 불러서 남은 시간은 물건 구경만 했습니다. (평점 3*)

Yongkang Street (永康街)

We headed to Yongkang Street after we came down from the Elephant Mountain. Yongkang Street is one of Taipei's best known for its food including original world famous Din Tai Fung store. Since we were too full after the dinner at Red Dragonfly, we only did window shopping during the rest of evening. (Review 3*)

붉은 잠자리 식당 (아카톤보)

대만에서 그것도 용강 거리에서 일본 음식을 먹을 생각은 없었으나 생각보다 많은 일본식당들을 보고 호기심으로 먹어 보기로 했습니다. 고등어 구이 (220 TWD)와 장어 덥밥 9550 TWD) 을 주문했습니다. 생선은 알맞게 구워졌고 장어 덥밥도 맛있게 먹었습니다. (평가 3*)

Red Dragonfly Restaurant (Akatonbo)

We had no intention of eating Japanese food in Taiwan, especially on Yonggang Street, But, since we saw more Japanese restaurants than we expected, we decided to try it out of curiosity. We ordered Grilled Mackerel (220 TWD) and Eel Rice Bowl (9550 TWD). The fish was grilled just right, and the eel rice bowl was delicious. (Review 3*)

우리들이 구경할 예정인 여러 장소와 가까워서 이 호텔을 선택했습니다. 단지 거리 소음을 걱정했지만 방은 매우 조용했습니다. 방은 넓고 편안했습니다. 직원들은 친절했고 우리의 필요한 것들을 기꺼이 도와주었습니다. 다른 편의 시설은 사용해보지 않았기 때문에 언급할 수 없습니다. 전반적으로 훌륭한 가치와 위치였습니다. (평점 4*)

We picked this hotel because of close proximity to the several places we plan to visit. We had a concern with street noise, but the room was very quite. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and willing to help with our needs. We could not comment on other amenities since we have not used them, Overall it was excellent value and location. (Review 4*)

Valley of Fire State Park (불의 계곡)

Valley of Fire 주립공원은 여름 동안 너무 높은 기온으로 인해 공원 문을 닫았다가 9월 1일 부터 다시 개장했다는 발표가 있어 저희들의 아리조나 북쪽 지역 겨울 여행 중 들리기로 정했습니다.

Valley of Fire 주립공원은 라스베이거스에서 불과 1시간 거리인 네바다주에 위치한 화려하고 다채로운 색갈의 공원입니다. 탁 트인 전망, 등산로, 암각화, 경치 좋은 드라이브, 멋진 빨간색과 분홍색 암석으로 가득한 Valley of Fire는 라스 베가스에서 출발하여 당일 여행으로 다녀 올 수 있습니다.

Valley of Fire State Park

The Valley of Fire was closed during the summer because of the excess heat and reopened on September 1. We decided to tour the park as part of our winter adventure of northern Arizona.

The Valley of Fire State Park is a brilliant, colorful outdoor destination located in Nevada, just one hour from Las Vegas. Filled with panoramic vistas, hiking trails, petroglyphs, scenic drives, and stunning red and pink rock formations, the Valley of Fire makes an excellent day trip from Vegas.

The Beehives (벌집)

"벌집"은 서쪽 입구를 통해 공원에 들어가면 가장 먼저 보게 되는 경관인데 정말 큰 벌집처럼 생겼습니다. 이것들은 지질학적 교차층에 의해 만들어진 지층인데 각 지층이 수 십년에 걸쳐 퇴적되어 오늘날 여러분이 보는 모양을 형성한 것 입니다. "벌집"의 홈은 지층이 형성될 때 물이나 바람으로 깍여진 것 입니다.

If you enter the park through the west entrance, the Beehives is the first sight that you will see. It really does look like large beehives. They are a formation created by geologic cross-bedding, which means the layers were deposited over the years to form the formation you see today. The grooves in the “beehives” were formed when there was water or wind that moved the material as it was forming.

파킹장에서 켐프장을 조금 지나 걸으니 부러진 다리 같은 바위 형상이 있네요.

Within the short hike from the parking lot through the camping area, we came across this rock formation.

Elephant Rock (코끼리 암석)

동문 옆에 위치한 코끼리 모양의 아치형 암석인데 저희들의 상상력이 부족하였는지 아니면 제대로 볼 수 있는 장소를 못 찾았는지 사진으로 보든 형상은 못 보았습니다. 주차장에서 엘리펀트 록까지 0.2 마일을 왕복하거나 1.25마일 원형 트레일을 하이킹할 수 있습니다. 

Located next to the east entrance, this arch rock formation resembles an elephant. We may be lacked the imagination or at the wrong place to see, and we did not see the elephant rock seen in the pictures. It is a 0.2-mile out-and-back walk to get to Elephant Rock from the parking lot or you can hike the 1.25 mile loop.

Petrified Log (석화된 나무)

석화된 나무는 오래 동안 외부에 노출되어 화석이 된 나무입니다. 모든 유기물은 태양, 바람, 물, 시간에 의해 제거되고 완전히 미네랄로 대체된 것입니다. 약 2억 2,500만 년 전에 불의 계곡으로 밀려온 통나무와 그루터기는 두 곳에서 볼 수 있습니다.

Petrified Log /석화된 나무

Petrified wood is wood that has lain outside long enough to become a fossil. All the organic things have been removed by sun, wind, water, and time, and have been completely replaced with minerals. Logs and stumps washed into Valley of Fire about 225 million years ago and are visible in two locations.

Valley of Fire 주립 공원의 Seven Sisters는 모래 사막으로 둘러싸인 7개의 높고 붉은 침식된 바위 그룹입니다. 한때 근처의 붉은 지층의 일부였던 이 암석 탑은 계속된 침식으로 사암 침전물이 씻겨 벗겨진 후에 남은 것 입니다. 수많은 "블로우 홀"은 수백 년 미래에 생길 타워의 궁극적인 파괴를 예측합니다.

이곳에 있는 피크닉 장소에서 사막과 붉은 암석을 풍경삼아 먹는 준비해간 점심이 아주 맛있네요. 작은 주차장과 화장실도 있습니다.

Seven Sisters at Valley of Fire State Park is a group of seven tall, red, eroded boulders surrounded by the sandy desert. Once part of the nearby red formations, these rock towers are all that remain after the erosion stripped away the surrounding sandstone deposits. Numerous “blow holes” forecast the eventual destruction of the towers that will take place many hundreds of years in the future.

We have enjoyed our lunch at the picnic area in the desert with red rock formations. There is a small parking lot with pit toilets.

Mouse's Tank Road 

White Domes Road 라고도 알려진 Mouse's Tank Road는 주변의 아름다움으로 유명한 그림 같은 드라이브 입니다. 좁은 협곡, 멋진 전망, 형형색색의 바위와 암각화가 특징으로 이 공원에서 가장 경치가 좋고 사진을 제일 많이 찍는 장소 중 하나일 것입니다. 길이는 9.17km (5.7마일)이며 방문자 센터 옆의 Valley of Fire Road 에서 북쪽으로 White Dome Trailhead 까지 이어집니다.

Mouse's Tank Road, also known as White Domes Road, is a picturesque drive honored for its surrounding beauty. It is probably one of the most scenic and photographed spots in the park featuring narrow canyons, stunning viewpoints, colorful rocks and petroglyphs. It’s 9.17km (5.7 miles) long, running northward from the visitor center to White Domes Trailhead.

Rainbow Vista

트레일 이름의 "무지개" 부분은 하이킹 초반에 빨간색, 갈색, 흰색으로 채색된 바위를 볼 수 있는 쉽게 찾을 수 있는 곳입니다. 그러나 이름의 "비스타" 부분은 트레일 끝에 있는 그랜드 파이어 캐년 전망대를 가리키는데 트레일이 표시가 잘 안돼있어 저희는 중간에서 돌아 섰습니다. (일정도 빡빡하고 길도 확실치않고).

Rainbow Vista

Distance: 1 mile out and back

Difficulty: Easy

The “rainbow” part of the trail’s name is easy to spot at the beginning of the hike when you can see the rocks colored in shades of red, brown, and white. The “vista” part of the name refers mostly to the grand Fire Canyon overlook at the end of the trail. But, we had to turn back to save the time since the trail was not well marked (meaning we got lost).

White Dome Trail

이 1.25마일 순환 산책길은 불의 계곡에서 가장 인기있는 산책로입니다. 또한 처음에는 내리막길을, 마지막에는 다시 주차장으로 돌아가야 하는 가장 어려운 코스이기도 합니다. 그렇더라도 그렇게 어렵지 않고, 좁은 슬롯 협곡을 걸으며 아이들은 바위 위로 오르는 재미를 갖기에 좋은 곳입니다. 불의 계곡에서 하이킹을 한 번만 할 시간이 있다면 꼭 이곳을 선택하세요.

이 산책길의 가장 쉬운 방법은 주차장에서 시작하고 끝나는 시계 방향으로 가는 것입니다. 이렇게 하면 상대적으로 가파르고 바위가 많은 길을 걷고 나중에는 단일 트랙 트레일에서 더 완만한 경사를 올라갑니다.

위치: White Domes의 주차장은 Mouse's Tank Road 맨 끝에 있습니다. 여기에 화장실도 있습니다.

White Domes Trail

Distance: 1.25 mile loop

Difficulty: Moderate

This 1.25-mile loop hike is the favorite hike in the Valley of Fire. It’s also the most challenging, with a descent at the beginning and then a modest climb back up to the parking lot at the end. Even so, it’s not difficult, and it’s a great place to bring kids to let them climb over boulders on the trail. You even get to walk through a narrow slot canyon. If you only have time for one hike in the Valley of Fire, make it this one.

The easiest way to do this hike is to go clockwise, starting and ending in the parking lot. By doing it this way, you walk down the relatively steep rocky path and later walk up a more gentle incline on a single track trail.

Direction: The parking lot for White Domes is located at the very end of Mouse’s Tank Road. There are restrooms here.

미스터 순두부

오징어 볶음 (16불 95)과 해물 순두부 (11불 95)을 먹었는데 오징어 볶음은 괜찮았는데 해물 순두부는 무엇인가 빠진듯한 맛이었습니다. 기다리지는 않았지만 식당은 손님들로 꽤 분볐습니다.

Mr. TOFU

We ordered Spicy Stir-fried Squid ($16.95) and Seafood Tofu Soup ($11.95). The stir-fried squid was okay, but the seafood tofu stew tasted like it was missing something. We didn't have to wait for the table but the restaurant was quite crowded.

The Pinball Hall of Fame is an attempt by the members of the Las Vegas Pinball Collectors Club to house and display the world's largest pinball collection. The games range from 1950s up to 1990s pinball machines. All older pinballs are set to 25 cents per play, and newer 1990s models are set to 50 cents per play. After the Pinball Hall of Fame covers its monthly expenses and endowment savings, the remainder of the money goes to the Salvation Army. (Review 3*)

조각품은 높이가 30~35피트 (9.1~10.7m)이며 미국 서부의 후두에서 영감을 받았습니다. 각 바위의 무게는 10~25톤 (9,100~22,700kg)이며 3개에서 6개씩 그룹으로 쌓여 있습니다. 현지에서 조달한 33개의 바위는 강철 백본으로 고정되어 있으며 태양에 의해 활성화되는 데이글로 (Day-Glo)를 2겹으로 덮어 있습니다.

방문할 수 있는 대중교통 수단은 없지만, 사진 촬영 기회만도 가볼 만한 가치가 있습니다. (평점 3*)

Seven Magic Mountains

Seven Magic Mountains is an art installation in Ivanpah Valley, along the far southern end of Las Vegas Boulevard. It was created by the Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, but commissioned and financed by the Art Production Fund and the Nevada Museum of Art. It is one of the largest land-based installations in the United States completed in the last forty years.

The sculptures are between 30 and 35 ft (9.1 and 10.7 m) tall and are inspired by the hoodoos in the Western United States. Each boulder weighs between 10 and 25 short tons (9,100 and 22,700 kg) and is stacked in groups ranging from three to six. The 33 locally sourced boulders are held together by a steel backbone and are covered in two layers of Day-Glo, which is activated by the sun.

There is no public transportation to visit, but it is worth the trip just for the pictures. (Review 3*)

우리는 여러번 Cirque de Soleil 쇼를 봤기 때문에 Wynn에서 공연하는 Awakening을 관람하기로 했습니다. 여러 조각으로 갈라지는 회전 무대는 새로웠고 의상은 화려했습니다. 하지만 춤을 제외한 스토리텔링과 연기는 개선의 여지가 많았습니다. 곡예 쇼를 좋아하지 않는다면 Awakening을 즐길 수 있을 것입니다.

Wynn Las Vegas

Since we have seen several Cirque de Soleil shows, we tried the Awakening at Wynn. The rotating stage that breaks apart into pieces was amazing, and the costumes were gorgeous. But, the storytelling and acting, except dancing, have a lot of room for improvement. If you are not into the acrobatics show, you may enjoy Awakening.

사이드 샐러드($6)와 함께 립 플래터 스페셜($36)을 주문했는데. 스페셜은 베이비 백 3개, 스페어 립 2개, 비프 립 1개가 포함되었고 와플 감자튀김이 사이드로 제공되었습니다. 그리고 갈비에 발라 먹을 수 있는 다양한 소스가 준비되어 있습니다. 이 식당의 관해 좋은 리뷰가 많아서 맛있는 식사를 기대했지만 나온 음식은 너무 실망스러워서 사진을 찍는 것도 잊었습니다. 양은 많았지만 품질은 나빴습니다. 갈비는 먹을 고기 없이 대부분 기름이었고 약간 건조했습니다. 그나마 괜찮았던 것은 와플 감자튀김과 샐러드였습니다. (평점 1*)

We ordered the Rib Platter Special ($36) with side salad ($6). It included 3 Baby Back's, 2 Spare Rib's and a Beef Rib. It also came with side of waffle fries. And there are wide selection of sauces to add to the ribs. With a lot of good reviews, we expected a delicious meal, but what came out of the kitchen was so disappointing that we even forgot to take a picture. The quantity was good, but the quality was bad. The ribs were very fatty and a little dry. The best part is the waffle fry and salad. (Review 1*)

탕수육 (소)($15.99), 깐풍기 (소)($15.99), 간짱장 (대)($17.99)을 주문했습니다. 깐풍기는 매우 맛있었고 탕수육은 맛있었지만 반죽이 더 바삭바삭했으면 좋았을 것 같네요. 종업원께서 간짜장을 작은 그릇에 나누어 나눠 주셔서 편하게 먹었고 짜장도 충분하게 주셨습니다. 그리고 맛도 괜찮았고요.

우리가 방문했을 때는 직원수가 부족한 듯 서비스가 약간 느렸습니다. 실내 장식은 전형적인 중국 레스토랑이었습니다. (평점 3*)

We tried Tang Su Yuk (small) ($15.99), KKan Pung Gi (small) ($15.99) and Gan Jja Jang (large) ($17.99). KKan Pung Gi was very good and Tang Su Yuk was tasty, but the batter could have been more crispy. The server split Gan Jja Jang into smaller bowls to share and with more than enough Jja Jang. And it was good.

It looked like they were short staffed and the service was a little slow on our visit. The interior decoration was a typical Chinese restaurant. (Review 3*)
