레이니 레이크 방문자 센터

영업시간: 오전 9시 - 오후 5시

이 방문자 센터는 연중무휴로 운영되지만, 저희가 방문했을 당시에는 정부 셧다운으로 인해 문을 닫은 상태였습니다. 이곳은 공원 내 세 곳의 방문자 센터 중 가장 규모가 크고 볼거리가 가장 많은 곳입니다.

Rainy Lake Visitor Center

Hours: 9 A - 5 P

This visitor center is open all year, but for our visit, it was closed because of a government shutdown. This is the largest of the three visitor centers in the park and the one with the most to offer.

오버홀처 트레일 (3*)

하이킹 거리: 왕복 1.6마일(2.6km), 접근 가능한 구간은 왕복 0.5마일(0.8km)

난이도: 쉬움

낙엽수림과 침엽수림 사이를 거닐며 갈대가 무성한 습지 가장자리를 따라 구불구불 이어지는 길을 걷고, 고대 빙하가 남긴 바위들을 감상할 수 있는 곳입니다. 습지와 호수 전망을 감상할 수 있는 두 곳의 전망대까지 하이킹을 하면서 야생 동물들을 찾아보세요.

이 트레일은 레이니 레이크 방문자 센터 근처에 있는 유일한 하이킹 코스입니다. 숲과 초원이 어우러진 풍경 속에서 호수 전망을 감상할 수 있으며, 어린 자녀를 동반한 가족에게 특히 좋은 코스입니다.

Oberholtzer Trail (3*)

Hiking Distance: 1.6 miles RT (2.6 km 왕복), 0.5 miles RT (0.8 km 왕복복) for the accessible part

Difficulty: Easy

Wander through deciduous and conifer forest as the trail twists around the edge of a cattail filled wetland and past rocks deposited by ancient glaciers. Look for signs of wildlife as you hike to two different overlooks with marsh and lake views.

This trail is the only hiking trail near the Rainy Lake Visitor Center. The landscape is forested and grassy, with views of the lake throughout. This is a great trail for families with small children.

The garden is open year-round, allowing visitors to experience the native plants unique to each season in Voyageurs National Park. You may take a self-guided tour strolling through this one-acre garden of plants to learn Ojibwe Ethnobotany.

틸슨 베이의 습지 산책로

틸슨 베이의 습지 산책로는 약 800미터 길이의 산책로로, 다양한 식물과 동물이 서식하는 매혹적인 습지 생태계를 탐험할 수 있도록 해줍니다. 가을마다 잎을 떨어뜨리는 독특한 낙엽송과 끈적한 잎으로 곤충을 잡아먹는 식충식물을 볼 수 있습니다. 또한, 산책로가 아래쪽 이탄층 위에 놓인 나무판자로 만들어져 있어 마치 물 위에 떠 있는 듯한 느낌으로 걸을 수 있습니다.

Tilson Bay Bogwalk

Tilson Bay’s bogwalk is a half-mile long walkway takes you through a fascinating bog ecosystem that supports a variety of plants and animals. You will see the distinctive tamarack trees, which shed their needles every fall, and the carnivorous plants that trap insects with their sticky leaves. You will also experience the sensation of walking on a floating sidewalk, as the walkway is made from boards that rest on the peat moss below.

저녁은 Cantilever (2078 Spruce St. Rainer, MN) 에서 먹었습니다. 호텔안에 있는 작으만한 식당인데 실내는 품위있게 장식하였네요. 닭날개 접시 (15불)과 튜나 포케 볼 (25불)을 주문했는데 아주 맛있었습니디. 다만 호텔에서 주는 간식을 먹은 탓인지 다 먹지를 못히고 남은 것을 싸가지고 왔는데 다음날 저희들의 훌륭한 점심의 되었습니다.

We had dinner at Cantilever (2078 Spruce St., Rainer, MN). It's a small restaurant located inside the hotel, and the interior was elegantly decorated. We ordered a plate of chicken wings ($15) and a tuna poke bowl ($25), both of which were delicious. However, perhaps because we had eaten snacks provided by the hotel earlier, we couldn't finish everything and took the leftovers with us, which made for a great lunch the next day.

You may learn about the natural history of wolves by observing the Exhibit Pack and touring the interactive "Discover Wolves! " Exhibit.The Center's Exhibit Pack varies in composition as wolves age and new wolf pups are socialized. However, the closest you could come with wolves is through the glass.

마무리 생각:

저희는 단풍 구경을 위해 보야저 국립공원을 방문했지만, 노스 쇼어 지역처럼 기대했던 만큼 멋진 풍경은 아니었습니다. 하지만 덕분에 편안하고 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다. 만약 수상 활동, 낚시 또는 카약 타기를 좋아하신다면 더욱 즐거운 시간을 보내실 수 있을 겁니다.

Final Thoughts:

We visited the Voyageur National Park for the fall colors, but it wasn't as exciting as other areas such as north shore area. But we had a very relaxed and pleasant time visiting the area. You may have more exciting time if you are into the water activities, fishing and kayaking.

보트 투어와 같은 수상 액티비티를 제공하는 곳들이 대부분 문을 닫았기 때문에, 10월 초에 방문했을 당시에는 육지에서 할 수 있는 액티비티들로 제한되었습니다. 또한, 정부 셧다운으로 인해 화장실을 포함한 모든 방문자 센터도 문을 닫은 상태였습니다.

Since many places were closed for any water activities such as a boat tour, our visit in early October was limited to the activities on the solid ground. Also, thanks to the government shutdown, all visitor centers including the restrooms were also closed.

비버 연못 전망대 (3*)

화장실: 트레일 시작 지점 바로 옆에 간이 화장실이 있습니다.

사시나무와 소나무 숲을 지나 짧은 오르막길을 오르면 비버 연못 위쪽에 있는 바위 절벽에 도착합니다. 비버는 보지 못했지만, 이 연못에서 비버들이 활발하게 활동한다고 합니다. 전망대가 특별히 멋진 경치를 자랑하는 곳은 아니지만, 연못과 숲의 풍경을 감상하기에 좋은 아담한 장소입니다. 트레일은 한 구간을 제외하고는 넓고 잘 정비되어 있습니다.

Beaver Pond Overlook (3*)

Hiking Distance: 0.4-mile RT (0.6-km RT)

Difficulty: Moderate

Restrooms: A vault toilet is located just after the trail head

A short uphill hike through an aspen and pine forest leads to a rocky outcrop high above a beaver pond. We did not see any beavers, but they are supposed to be very active in this pond. The overlook does not have the wow factor, but it is a cute place to enjoy the view of the pond and forest. The trail is wide and well maintained except for one short section with rock outcropping.

설리번 베이 트레일 입구 (3*)

Sullivan Bay Trailhead (3*)

Hiking Distance: 1.5 mile RT

The trail winds through coniferous and deciduous forests, leading to a scenic viewpoint overlooking Sullivan Bay, complete with a picnic table and fire ring. Pets are not permitted to protect the wolf population from potential diseases.

There is no dedicated parking lot even though there is a space to park a few cars. You may use the parking lot at the Beaver Pond Overlook and take a short walk to the Sullivan Bay Trailhead.

비록 방문자 센터는 들릴 수 없었지만 센터 주변에는 호수로 이어지는 산책로를 포함하여 둘러볼 만한 아름다운 장소들이 몇 군데 있었습니다.

Ash River Visitor Center

Even though we could not visit the center, there were some pleasant areas to explore surrounding the visitor center including a trail leading down to the lake.

카베토가마 호수 월아이 동상은 도로변에 위치해 있으며 주차 공간도 넉넉합니다. 계단, 사다리, 그리고 안장까지 있어서 이 거대한 물고기 위에 올라탈 수도 있습니다. 주유소와 편의점 건너편에 있는 재미있는 사진 촬영 장소입니다.

Lake Kabetogama Walleye (3*)

The Lake Kabetogama Walleye is right off the street with ample parking. And it has stairs, ladder and a saddle so you can get on or “ride” this giant fish. This is a fun photo stop and right across the street from a gas station and convenience store.

This short handicap accessible trail takes you through a pine forest to a viewpoint where you can sit on a bench and see Kabetogama Lake framed by the trees.

월아이 윌리 동상 (2 *)

레이크 어브 우즈는 세계 월아이 낚시의 수도로 알려져 있습니다. 보데트 마을 한가운데에 당당하게 서 있는 이 동상은 마을의 상징이며, 셀 수 없이 많은 사람들이 사진을 찍었습니다. 이 동상은 마을 이름을 딴 "윌리 월아이 공원"과 보데트 만, 그리고 레이니 강을 내려다보고 있습니다.

Willie the Walleye Statue (2 *)

Lake of the Woods is known as being the Walleye Capital of the World. This statue is the town icon and its picture has been taken more times than a person can mention. He stands boldly at the center of Baudette, MN and it overlooks its namesake park called “Willie Walleye Park” as well as Baudette Bay and the Rainy River.

지펠 베이 주립공원 - 하이킹 클럽 트레일 (해변 산책을 좋아하지 않는다면 별점 1개)

지펠 베이 주립공원은 레이크 어브 우즈의 하얀 모래 해변을 따라 펼쳐진 주립공원입니다. 이 공원은 캠핑, 하이킹, 낚시, 크로스컨트리 스키 등 사계절 내내 다양한 ​​여가 활동을 즐길 수 있도록 개방되어 있습니다. 하이킹 클럽 트레일은 일반적인 하이킹 코스라기보다는 해변을 따라 걷는 산책로에 가깝습니다.

Zippel Bay State Park - Hiking Club Trail (1* unless the stroll along the beach is your thing)

Zippel Bay State Park is a state park with the white sand beach shoreline of the Lake of the Woods. The park is open for year-round recreation including camping, hiking, fishing and cross-country skiing. The hiking club trail is more like a stroll along the beach than a traditional hike.

오늘 점심은 The Library (1323 3rd St, International Falls, MN) 에서 먹었습니다. 식당 이름 같이 식당 장식이 꼭 도서실에 온 것 같았습니다. 저희는 브리스킷과 프로볼로네 치즈 딥 (15달러)과 치킨 샐러드 샌드위치(샐러드 포함, 13달러)를 주문했습니다. 좋은 후기들을 읽고 기대했는데, 기대했던 만큼 맛있지는 않았습니다.

We had lunch today at The Library (1323 3rd St, International Falls, MN). As the name suggests, the restaurant's decor made it feel like we were in a library. We tried the Brisket and Provolone Dip ($15.00) and Chicken Salad Sandwich with salad ($13.00). They were not as good as we expected after reading the good reviews.

제이드가든 수목원은 우거진 산림 속에 유럽 각국의 정원을 모티브로 테마정원을 만들고, 계절마다 서로 다른 아름다움을 뽐내는 3,900여 종의 꽃과 나무로 장식한 수목원이다. ‘숲 속에서 만나는 작은 유럽’을 모토로 하고 있는 만큼 이곳의 건물이나 정원의 조경에서는 유럽의 분위기가 물씬 풍긴다. 제이드가든 수목원에서는 붓꽃류, 부들류, 버드나무류 등 물가에서 잘 자라는 수생식물들을 심어놓은 수생식물원, 사계절에 따라 꽃과 잎의 색깔이 바뀌며 전체적으로 큰 물결을 이루는 꽃물결원, 고산지역에서 자라는 다양한 식물들을 전시하는 고산온실, 세계 각국의 만병초들을 전시해둔 로도덴드론가든 등 평소 쉽게 보기 힘든 식물들을 볼 수 있다. Jade Garden Arboretum is an aquatic botanical garden planted with aquatic plants that grow well near water, such as irises, cattails, and willows, a flower wave garden where the colors of flowers and leaves change depending on the four seasons and form large waves overall, and various plants that grow in alpine areas. The Moss Garden preserves the natural beauty of its pre-arboretum past. Walking along the valley's green tapestry with the sound of flowing water evokes a mystical atmosphere.

참고: 제이드가든 수목원은 다른 수목원에 비해 넓은 수목원도 아니고 더 많은 종류의 식물들이 있는 것은 아니지만 적은 방문객 덕분에 조용히 감상하며 즐길 수 있었습니다.

Note: Jade Garden Arboretum is not as large as other arboretums, nor does it have a wider variety of plants. However, thanks to the small number of visitors, we were able to quietly appreciate and enjoy the gardens.

잣두부와 메멜국수 간판이 눈을 끌어 들렸습니다. 먹어 보고 싶어던 것들이 포함된 막국수 2인 세트 (28,000 원), 물막국수 (10,000 원), 비빔막국수 (10,000원)을 주문했습니다. 잣두부는 고소한데 잣이 조금 더 섞여으면 더 고소할런지여. 그러나 보쌈과 순두부는 괜찮았어요. 물/비빔 막국수는 특히 맛있다는 기억이 없네요. 마지막으로 표고 메멜전으로 입가심했구요.(평점 3*)

The sign for pine nut tofu and buckwheat noodles caught our eye and we decided to stop for the lunch. We ordered the Makguksu Set for 2 ($19.50), mul and bibim makguksu ($7.00 each) since the set included the dishes we'd been wanting to try. The pine nut tofu was savory, but we wonder if it would have been even more flavorful with a little more pine nuts. However, the bossam and soft tofu were okay. We don't remember the mul or bibim makguksu being particularly tasty. We finished off the meal with shiitake buckwheat pancakes. (Review 3*)

삼육대학교 원예학과 교수인 한상경교수가 미국에서 교환교수로 재임하던 때에 세계 각국의 정원과 식물원을 방문하면서 대한민국의 아름다움을 담은 한국 정원에 대한 필요성을 느꼈고, 한국으로 돌아와 10만평 정도의 부지를 가평에 위치한 축령산 자락에 정원을 만들기 시작하였고 지금까지 이어지고 있다.

1996년 5월에 개원한 수목원은 총10만평(33만㎡)의 면적으로, 백두산 식물 300여종을 포함한 약 5,000여 종의 식물을 관람할 수 있다. 하경정원, 아침광장, 하늘길, 분재정원, 한국정원 등 약 22여개의 야외 주제정원으로 구성되어 있으며, 산수경온실, 초화온실, 알파인온실 총 3곳의 실내 전시 시설도 보유하고 있다. 특히, 아름다운 대한민국의 금수강산을 실제 한반도 지형 모양으로 조성하여 최고 절정의 꽃으로 표현한 하경정원 (Sunken Garden)은 관광객들의 관심을 가장 많이 끄는 곳이다. (평점 3*)

Professor Han Sang-kyung, a professor of horticulture at Sahmyook University, visited gardens and botanical gardens around the world while serving as an exchange professor in the United States. He recognized the need for a Korean garden that captures the beauty of Korea. Upon returning to Korea, he began creating a garden on approximately 100,000 pyeong (approximately 330,000 sq ft) of land at the foot of Chukryeongsan Mountain in Gapyeong, and a development is continuing to this day.

Opened in May 1996, the arboretum spans a total area of ​​approximately 330,000 sq ft and features approximately 5,000 plant species, including approximately 300 species native to Baekdu Mountain. The arboretum consists of approximately 22 outdoor themed gardens, including the Hagyeong Garden, Morning Plaza, Sky Path, Bonsai Garden, and Korean Garden. We decided to stop for the dinner because of the unique name of restaurant. The interior was decorated with traditional Korean house props. Following the restaurant's name, We ordered Jjajangmyeon ($4.90) and Jjamppong ($7.00). It was worth the effort.(Review 3*)
