양동마을

경북 경주시 강동면 양동마을길 93

전통 민속마을 중 가장 큰 규모와 오랜 역사를 가지고 있는 우리나라의 대표적인 집성촌으로 손(孫), 이(李) 양성이 서로 협조하며 500여년의 역사를 이어온 마을입니다. 마을의 산세와 지세가 명당 중의 명당이라 예로부터 재물과 인재가 모여들었다 한다. 조선시대의 상류주택을 포함하여 500년이 넘는 고색창연한 54호의 고와가(古瓦家)와 이를 에워싸고 있는 고즈넉한 110여 호의 초가로 이루어져 있다. 양반가옥은 높은 지대에 위치하고 낮은 지대에는 하인들의 주택이 양반가옥을 에워싸고 있다.

마울 안에는 차량 통행이 금지 되어있어 아름다운 풍경과 낮은 토담길 사이를 걸으며 긴 역사의 향기를 감상할 수 있는 마을 입니다. 학교도 기와 한옥으로 지어졌는데 1909년에 양좌학교로 설립인가 받고, 1913년에 양동 공립 보통학교로 개교한 무려 100년이 넘는 역사를 가진 학교 입니다

안동의 하회마을과 함께 한국의 역사마을로 지난 2010년 8월 세계문화유산에 등재되었다. (평점 3*)

Among the largest and most historic traditional folk villages in Korea, Yangdong Village is a typical clan village (with the same family name), established over 500 years ago through the cooperation of the Son and Lee clans. The village's geography and topography are considered auspicious, attracting wealth and talent since ancient times. It consists of 54 ancient tile-roofed houses, including those of the upper class from the Joseon Dynasty, and approximately 110 thatched-roof houses surrounding them, creating a tranquil atmosphere. The nobleman's houses are located on high ground, surrounded by servants' residences on lower ground.

Since vehicle traffic is prohibited inside the town, this village offers a walk along the low earthen walls and allows visitors to appreciate its long history and beautiful landscape. The school was even built in a tiled-roofed hanok and it boasts a history spanning over 100 years. It was approved as Yangjwa School in 1909 and opened as Yangdong Public Elementary School in 1913.

Along with Andong's Hahoe Village, it was designated a World Heritage Site in August 2010 as one of Korea's historic villages. (Review 3*)

백리향식당

마을을 돌다 보니 배도 고프고 지나가다 본 메뉴가 눈길을 끄네요. 연세드신 두분이 운영하시는 식당 인데 시골 마당에서 먹는 것이 옛날 할머니 집에 온 것 섵았습니다. 해물 부추전은 바삭하게 구워졌고 맛있네요. 묵도 할머니 손길이 간 음식 생각나게 하더군요. (평점 4*)

Baekrihyang Restaurant

Wandering around the village, we were hungry and the menu at Baeknhyang caught our eyes. It's a restaurant run by two elderly people, and it felt like visiting the grandmother’s home and having a feast in the courtyard. The seafood chive pancake was crispy and delicious. The Mook (jelly) also reminded us of the food our grandmother used to make. (Review 4*)

주왕산 공원

매표소를 지나면 바로 앞에 대전사라는 절이 나온다. 대전사는 신라 문무왕 12년 의상대사 창건했던 신라불교의 전통사찰이라고 한다. 본래 매우 큰 절이었으나 여러 화재로인해 절의 규모가 많이 줄었다고 한다. 그 뒤로 우뚝 서 있는 봉우리가 바로 주왕산을 상징할 수 있는 기암(旗岩)이다. 주왕산은 화산폭발로 인해 형성 됐었다고 하는데 화산재가 굳어진 응회암이 대표 암석이며, 응회암으로 된 봉우리를 기암이라 한다. (평점 4*)

Daejeonsa Temple and Juwangsan Rock Formations

After passing the ticket booth, you'll immediately see Daejeonsa Temple. Daejeonsa Temple is a traditional Silla Buddhist temple founded by Great Monk Uisang in the 12th year of King Munmu's reign. It was originally a very large temple, but its size was greatly reduced due to numerous fires. The summit you see behind the temple is Giam, a symbol of Juwangsan Mountain. Juwangsan Mountain is said to have been formed by a volcanic eruption, and it is made of volcanic tuff, the hardened volcanic ash. Peaks made of tuff are called Giam. (Review 4*)

주왕산 안으로 이어지는 길 옆에 기암복제형이 있으니 봉우리까지 올라기지 않고 사진 한장.

There's a replica of this rock formation next to the path leading into Juwangsan Mountain. It provides an opportunity to take a picture without climbing all the way to the peak.

그리고 길을 따라가다 보면 길옆 냇가에 큰 바위가 하나 있는데 이름하여 아들바위란 것이다. 왼팔로 던진돌이 그 바위에 얹히게 되면 생남을 한다는 전설이 있어서인지 작은 돌들이 뙈 쌓여있네요.

Continuing the trail, you'll come across a large rock in the stream beside the road, named Sonbawi (Adleobawi). There's a legend that says if a stone thrown with your left arm lands on the rock, you'll have a son. There must be a lot of people wishing for a son by looking at the many small stones piled up on the rock.

Crossing Haksogyo Bridge, the trail along the iron bridge through the gorge with high walls creates a mystical landscape.

주왕산 아름다움에 너무 시간을 보내 이곳에서 발길을 돌렸습니다.

We spent too much time admiring the beauty of Juwangsan Mountain, so we decided to turne back here.

자하교를 건너 300m쯤 올라가면 통일신라 때 의상대사가 창건했다는 주왕암이 있습니다. 주왕암에서 나한전 뒤로 뚫린 바위 절벽길을 1백여 미터 오르면 비좁은 철 사다리가 나오는데, 이 사다리 위쪽에 주왕굴이 있다. 신라 군대를 피해 숨어 있던 주왕이 어느 날 절벽에서 떨어지는 물로 세수를 하다 화살에 맞아 숨을 거뒀다는 곳이다.

Crossing Jaha Bridge and climbing about 300 meters, you reach Juwangam Hermitage. It is guessed to have been founded by Great Monk Uisang during the Unified Silla Period. From Juwangam, climb the rocky cliff path behind the Nahanjeon Hall for about 100 meters to reach a narrow iron ladder. At the top of this ladder is Juwanggul Cave. It's said that King Ju, hiding from the Silla army, was struck by an arrow and died while washing his face with water falling from the cliff.

저녁노을에 종을 치시는 스님의 모습이 너무 아름답습니다.

The sight of a monk ringing the bell in the sunset is truly beautiful.

참고: 들어가는 길이 꽤 먼데 상가들이 너무 많아 산으로 가는 듯한 고요함은 즐길 수가 없네요.

Note: The road leading in is quite long, and there are so many stores that it is difficult to enjoy the tranquility of going into the mountains.

주왕산은 편의 시설도 잘 되어있고 주위 경치가 너무 이뻐 다시 가고푼 곳 입니다.

The surrounding scenery at Juwangsan Mountain is so beautiful and the facilities are well maintained and we would love to go back there again.

주왕산 청솔식당

두부를 직접 만든다는 광고판을 보고 이 식당을 찾았습니다. 순두부찌개 (12,000원)과  산더덕구이 (30,000원)을 주문했는데 직접 만든 순두부는 정말 오래간만에 먹어보았던 맛이었습니다. 가까운데 있으면 매일 갈것 같네요. 메밀전을 서비스로 주셨는데 맛있었어요.(평점 4*)

Juwangsan Cheongsong Restaurant

We decided to try this restaurant after seeing a sign advertising homemade tofu. We ordered soft tofu stew ($8.40) and grilled mountain radish ($21.00). It has been long time that we had a chance to taste the homemade soft tofu. If we live by, we would visit it every day. They offered buckwheat pancakes as a service, which were delicious. We heard the hotel was opened not that long ago, and the building and rooms were clean. While the rooms weren't large, the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very simple. There are limited parking space for the hotel. (Review 4*)

남한 일주 일곱째날: 농소 몽둘해수욕장, 대왕암 공원, 태화강 국가정원 (Trip Around South Korea Day 7: Nongso Pebble Beach, Daewangam Park, and Taehwagang National Garden)

호텔에서 준비한 한식 아침으로 배를 채우고 오늘 하루 일정을 떠납니다.

We were off to the today's sightseeing after filling our stomachs with a Korean breakfast prepared by the hotel

농소 몽돌해수욕장

해변의 바위 조각들이 파도와 조류에 의해 끊임없이 움직이며 서로 부닺히는 과정에서 바위의 날카로운 모서리들이 깎여나가고 닳아 없어지면서 점차 둥글고 매끄러운 모양이 됩니다. 이 몽돌들이 해변에 모여 몽돌 해변을 형성합니다. 파도가 돌을 굴리며 아름다운 소리를 만들어내는데 이 소리가 우리나라 자연소리 100선에도 선정되었다고 하는데 유감스럽게도 들어 보질 못했네요.

농소 몽돌해수욕장은 2km 길이의 몽돌 해수욕장으로, 거제도에서 가장 긴 몽돌 해변 중 하나입니다. 저희는 해보지 않았지만 맨발로 걸으면 몽돌 찜질 효과를 얻을 수 있다고하네요. 날씨가 개였다면 경치가 더 아름다웠을텐데 아쉽네요. (평점 3*)

Nongso Pebble Beach

The rocks on the beach are constantly being moved and rubbed against each other by waves and currents, eroding their sharp edges and gradually becoming rounded and smooth. These pebbles gather on the beach, forming the pebble beach. The waves roll the pebbles and creat a beautiful sound that's said to have been selected as one of Korea's 100 Natural Sounds. However, unfortunately, I wasn't able to hear it.

Nongso Mongdol Beach is a 2km-long pebble beach, one of the longest on Geoje Island. We have not tried, but it's said that walking barefoot on the beach will provide a relaxing massage. The scenery would have been even more beautiful had the weather been clearer. (Review 3*)

대왕암 가는길에 간단히 점심 먹을 곳을 찾다 들린 곳입니다. 식당은 자그마한했지만 "소소한 분식 행복한 한끼" 라는 이름같이 불고기김밥 (5,000원), 통새우김밥 (5,000원), 라면 (4,500원)을 맛있게 먹은 점심 이었습니다.

We stopped by this place for a quick lunch on the way to Daewangam. The restaurant was small, but true to its name, "A Small Snack, a Happy Meal", we enjoyed a delicious lunch of bulgogi kimbap ($3.60), whole shrimp kimbap ($3.60), and ramen ($3.20).

독고 노인들을 위한 천사 무료 급식소를 후원하는 따뜻한 가게이네요.

It's a store with heart that supports the Angel Free Meal Center. The center provides the meals for seniors who live alone.

대왕암 공원

울산광역시 동구 등대로 100

대왕암 공원은 울기등대와 대왕암, 용굴, 탕건암 같은 기암괴석, 수령 100년이 넘는 아름드리 해송 1만 5천 그루가 어우러져 울산을 상징하는 쉼터 구실을 한다. 울산의 끝이란 의미를 가지고 있는 울기등대는 1906년 동해안에서는 처음 세워진 높이 6m의 등대입니다. 용추암 또는 댕바위라고도 불리는 대왕암은 신라시대 문무왕의 왕비가 죽어서도 호국룡이 되어 나라를 지키겠다 하여 바위섬 아래에 묻혔다는 전설이 있고 육지에 있는 바위와 철교로 연결된다. (평점 4*)

대왕암까지는 출렁다리를 건너 해안 산책로를 따라 가는 길이 있으며 출렁다리 건너기가 힘들면 수령 100년 이상의 소나무가 우거진 송림길을 따라 대왕암으로 갈 수 있습니다.

팁: 해외 카드로는 주차 요금 결제가 안되니 사무원과 통화하신 후 현금 결제하여야 합니다.

Daewangam Park

Parking: ₩500 for the first 30 minutes / ₩200 for each additional 10 minutes

Daewangam Park is home to Ulgi Lighthouse, Daewangam Rock, Yonggul Cave, and Tanggeonam Rock, along with 15,000 majestic pine trees over 100 years old. Ulgi Lighthouse, meaning "the end of Ulsan," stands 6 meters tall and was the first lighthouse built on the east coast in 1906. Daewangam Rock, also known as Yongchuam Rock or Daengbawi Rock, is said to be the burial sire of a queen of King Munmu of the Silla Dynasty who vowed to become a guardian dragon and protect the nation even after death. You may travel to Daewangam Rock following the coastal trail after crossing the suspension bridge. If the suspension bridge is too difficult for you to cross, a forest path lined with pine trees over 100 years old also leads to Daewangam Rock.

Tip: Parking fees cannot be paid with foreign bank credit cards. You must speak to a clerk and pay in cash.

대왕암공원 출렁다리

운영시간: 9:00-18:00 (17:40에 입장 종료) (휴장: 화요일)

대왕암 출렁다리는 2021년 6월에 준공되었으며, 길이 303m, 보행폭 1.5m, 높이 42.55m 의 현수교이다. 다리는 바다 위에 만들어져 다리 위에서 보는 대왕암 주변의 해안 비경은 멋있습니다. 을 즐길 수 있습니다. 그러나 출렁다리는 일방 통행이기 떄문에 한번 진입하시면 돌아 나올 수 없습니다.

해안을 따라 펼쳐진 크고 작은 바위들은 사금을 채취하였다 하여 '사금 바위'라고하며 대왕암 해녀가 직접 채취하는 자연산 해산물을 맛볼 수 있는 곳입니다.

The large and small rocks along the coast are called "Gold Plaster Rocks" because the gold was harvested around the rocks. Here, you can also savor wild seafood harvested directly by the Daewangam haenyeo (female divers).

Daewangam Park Suspension Bridge

The Daewangam Suspension Bridge, completed in June 2021, is a suspension bridge measuring 303 meters long, 1.5 meters wide, and 42.55 meters high. Built over the sea, the bridge offers breathtaking views of the surrounding coastal area. However, the suspension bridge is one-way, so once you enter, you can't turn back.

유채꽃밭

직원께서 추천하시기를 지금 유채꽃이 만발했다고 알려 주셔서 꽃밭을 지나 주차장으로 돌아오는 길이 먼길이라 조금 주저했지만 다녀오기로 했습니다. 교육 연수원 둘레길을 따라 가면 푸른 바다와 잘 어우러진 노란 유채꽃밭이 나옵니다. 해안둘레길을 따라 가면 슬도 등대까지 갈 수 있습니다.

Rape Flower Field

The staff recommended visit the rape flowers since they are in full bloom. We hesitated a bit because the walk back to the parking lot through the field was a bit long, but we were glad that we gave it a try. Following the old Education and Training Center trail, you'll come across a field of yellow rape flowers, beautifully contrasting with the blue sea. Following the coastal trail, you can also reach Seoldo Lighthouse.

울산 태화강 국가정원

2019년 순천만에 이어 두번째 국가정원으로 지정되면서 태화강 국가정원이라는 정식 명칭을 얻게 되었습니다다. 태화강 국가정원은 생태하천 태화강을 끼고 있는 도심 속 친환경 생태정원입니다. 태화강 국가정원 1 주차장에 주차했는데 정원 관람과 저녁식사 하기에 편리 하였습니다. 밤에 들렸기에 주변 경치를 두루 볼수는 없었지만 제반 시설은 잘 되어 있는 것 같았습니다. (평점 3*)

Ulsan Taehwagang National Garden

Admission: Free

Taehwagang National Garden received its official name as it was designated as the second national garden after Suncheon Bay in 2019. It's an eco-friendly, urban garden nestled along the Taehwagang River, an ecological stream. Parking at Taehwagang National Garden Parking Lot 1 was convenient for viewing the garden and enjoying dinner after the visit. Since we stopped by at night, we couldn't fully appreciate the surrounding scenery, but the facilities seemed well-maintained. (Review 3*)

십리대숲

태화강 국가정원에는 여러가지 테마의 공간들이 많이 있지만 가장 유명한 곳이 십리대숲 입니다. 대나무 약 50만본이 있는 국내 최대 규모의 대나무숲 정원입니다. 태화강을 따라 십리(약 4km) 정도 걸쳐 펼쳐져 있어서 십리대숲이라고 한다고 하네요

은하수길

은하수길은 매일 일몰시간부터 23시까지로 운영시간이 정해져 있습니다. 제대로 구경 하시려면 주위가 좀 더 어둑해질 때 들리세요. 그래도 전체적으로 어두워 사진 찍기에는 약간 힘듭니다.

Ten-ri Bamboo Grove

Taehwagang National Garden features many themed areas, but the most famous is the Ten-ri Bamboo Grove. With approximately 500,000 bamboo trees, it's the largest bamboo forest in Korea. Its name derives from its ten-ri (approximately 4km) stretch of Bamboo grove along the Taehwagang River.

Milky Way

Milky Way's operating hours are set from sunset to 11:00 PM daily. If you want to see it properly, stop by when it's a bit darker. The overall light of the trail is dim which makes it a bit difficult to take good photos.

국가정원 구경을 맞히고 저녁 먹을 곳을 찾다가 좀 색달라 보여 드린 풍당풍당 입니다. 얼큰샤브칼국수 (10,000원/1 인) 2인분을 주문했습니다. 샤브샤브 고기가 약간 질기긴 했지만 먹을만 했고 국수는 직접 만든 것이라 쫄깃쫄깃 한게 좋았음. 양이 많아 밥은 남길 것 같았는데 맛이 있어 다 먹었네요. (평점 4*)

Pungdang Pungdang

While looking for a place to have dinner after visiting the National Garden, we stumbled upon Pungdang Pungdang whose menu was very interesting. We ordered the Spicy Shabu Kalguksu ($7.20/person) for two. The shabu-shabu meat was a bit tough, but it was still good. The home made noodles were chewy and excellent. The portions were generous, so we thought we would have leftover rice, but it was so delicious we finished it all. (Review: 4*)

어제 저녁부터 내리는 비가 오늘도 끝치지를 않네요. 할 수 없이 외도 방문은 포기하고 하루 일정을 바꾸어야 했습니다.

Since the rain that started last night continues today, we had no choice but to cancel the visit to Oedo and change the plans for the day.

거제 식물원

거제식물원은 최고 높이 30m, 7472장의 유리로 덮여 있는 우리나라 최대 규모 식물원이다. 돔 내부에는 300여 종 1만 주의 열대수목이 있으며 무릉도원을 모티브로 조성된 석부작 계곡, 바위산과 같은 암석원, 커다란 새 둥지 모양의 포토존, 10m 높이의 폭포, 빛의 동굴, 미디어파사드를 활용한 정글 동물 등 다양한 볼거리가 있습니다. 돔은 바다의 고래를 형상화해 만들어졌다고 하는데 고래보다는 엄청 큰 알같아요. 기대했던 것보다 훨씬 더 만족스러운 방문이었고 강력 추천합니다. (평점 4*)

Geoje Botanical Garden is Korea's largest botanical garden, with a maximum height of 30 meters and covered with 7,472 panes of glass. Inside the dome, you'll find 10,000 tropical trees of over 300 species. There are also various attractions, including the Seokbujak Valley, designed with a theme of paradise, a rock garden resembling a rocky mountain, a photo zone shaped like a large bird's nest, a 10-meter-high waterfall, a cave of light, and jungle animals using a media facade. 바람의 언덕을 해안 쪽에서 올라가는 입구에서 판매한다는 거제의 명물 바람의 핫도그를 먹으러 갔는데 비가 끝이지를 않아 포기하고 바람의핫도그 본점으로 차를 돌렸습니다.

바람의 언덕은 남해안 바다가 멋지고 바람이 시원하게 불어준다는 도장포 마을 북쪽에 위치한 언덕을 명칭합니다. 참고로 바람의 언덕 주차장과 도장포 선착장 주차장은 서로 붙어있는데 도장포 선착장 주차장은 무료이고 바로 옆 바람의 언덕 주차장은 유료 입니다. (평점 3*)

바람의 언덕 본점 시그네처 음식이라는 바핫 브런치를 주문했는데 색다르기는 했지만 유명세를 타는 것 같네요.

We went to try the famous Windy Hotdog, a Geoje specialty sold at the entrance to Windy Hill from the coast side. However the rain persisted, and we ended up at the original Windy Hotdog location.

Windy Hill is the name of a hill located north of Dojangpo Village, known for its stunning views of the South Sea and refreshing breeze. The Windy Hill parking lot and the Dojangpo Pier parking lot are adjacent, but the Dojangpo Pier parking lot is free, while the adjacent Windy Hill parking lot is paid. (Review 3*)

We ordered the Baramhotdog Brunch, which is said to be the signature dish of Windy Hill main store. Although it was unique, it seems to be more of fame.

2003년 태풍 매미로 경작지를 잃은 시민 백순삼씨가 오랜 시간 작물을 지키기 위해 혼자서 쌓아올린 성이라고 한다. 낮에는 직장에 다니시면서 퇴근 후에 돌을 쌓았고 은퇴후에도 계속하셨다네요. 따로 설계도나 디자인 없이 지은 것이라고 믿기지 않을 만큼 멋진 유럽 성채의 모습을 가지게 되어 거제도의 유명한 관광지가 되었습니다다. (평점 4*)

매미성 앞에는 주차 공간이 없으니 공영 주차장에 주차하시고 한 10분 걸어가시면 됩니다.

This fortress was built by Baek Soon-sam, a citizen who lost his farmland to Typhoon Maemi in 2003, to protect his crops. He had a day time job and worked on the fortress after work, even after retirement. It's hard to believe it was built without a blueprint or design, but its stunning European-style appearance has made it a popular tourist attraction on Geoje Island. (Review 4*)

There is no parking in front of Maemi Fortress. Please park in the public parking lot and walk about 10 minutes.

비오고 파킹하기 힘들어 호텔 근처 식당 찾음

호텔 직원 추천으로 찾은 집인 "행복한 밥상"(경남 거제시 옥포로10길 11)을 찾았습니다. 여사장님께서 손님들 대부분은 정식을 시킨다고 하셨고 국과, 생선구이, 밑반찬이 나오는 거라 알려주셔 2인분 정식 (18,000 원)으로 맛있게 먹은 저녁이었습니다. (평점 4*)

It was raining and parking was difficult, so we looked for a restaurant near the hotel. We decided to try  "Happy Table" (11 Okpo-ro 10-gil, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do) on the recommendation of a hotel staff. The owner told us most guests order a set meal, which comes with soup, grilled fish, and side dishes. We ordered a set meal for two (18,000 won), and it was a delicious dinner. (Review 4*)

방은 크지 않았지만 깨끗하고 필요한 편의시설이 잘 갖춰져 있었습니다. 침대도 편안해서 숙면을 취할 수 있었습니다. 무료 주차가 가능하지만 공간이 협소합니다. (평점 4*)

The room was not large, but clean and equipped with usual amenities. The bed was comfortable and we were able to have a good sleep. There is free parking available, but the space is limited. (Review 4*)
