Since they are known for their ramen and we thought it might be good time to try as in between meals. The downtown restaurant is the one well known, but we decided to try this place because of the proximity to airport. It was a small place (not much space between tables) and quite busy. We had to wait for few minutes even if it was after lunch hour.
이 식당은 우동으로 유명한데 간단한 식사로 좋을 것 같아 들렸습니다. 다운타운에 있는 것이 원조라는데 저희들은 공항에 가까운 지점에 들렸습니다. 식당이 그리 크지도 않고 바빠서인지 점신 시간이 지나서 들렸는데도 몆분 기다려야했습니다.
미소 라면 (13불), 마운 참치 롤(5블)과 야끼만두는 특별하다는 느낌을 못 느겼습니다. 특히 이 집 라면이 왜 그렇게 우명한지 잘 모르겠더군요. 만두는 보통 식당과 다르게 만들었는데 괜찮았어요.
Miso Ramen ($13), Spicy Tuna Roll($5) and Gyoza ($5) were not anything special. Especially we were not sure the reason for fame of their ramen. But, Gyoza was prepared different than usual and was good.
Since the restaurant is located in the busy street, the parking might be a problem even though we are not familiar with the neighborhood.

** Marugame Monzo (마루가메 몬조)

이 식당은 열린 주방에서 직접 만드는 국수로 유명합니다.
This restaurant is known for udon prepared with home made noodles in the open kitchen.
더운 Sansai 우동 (9불95전) 국물은 아주 맛있었습니다. 그런데 새우 템푸라 우동 (12불25전) 국물은 맛이 너무 민밋했으나 새우는 정말 맛있게 튀겨졌습니다. 직접 만든 국수는 쫄깃쫄깃한게 맛이었습니다.

점심 먹고 나오니 바로 옆에 일본 빵집이 있어 들려습니다. 종업원이 무척 친절하고 도움이 많이 됬습니다. 이 곳에서 문을 연지 꽤 오래 되었다고 하네요. 고풍이 멋인지 가게가 장식은 거의 없고요. 저희들은 모지를 한 상자 주문했습니다. 아주 맛있는 모지는 아니였지만 막 먹고 싶을 때 그 식욕을 채워주기는 무난했습니다.
We stopped at this place for curiosity without any expectation after the lunch at the next door. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and helpful with our order. This place has been here very long time. The store does not have much decoration except it is old. We order one box of mochi to go. They were not really good, but good enough to cool the urge for the mochi.

동양 음식 집에 들어 가는데 스페인 말 쓰는 주인들을 보니 놀랄만하네요. 중국 음식을 만드는 스페인계 남미 사람들? 놀라운 일이네요. 배가 너무 고파 다른 움식점을 찾기에도 너무 늦어 먹어 보기로 했습니다. 메뉴 판에 있는대로 주 음식, 곁들임 요리, 마실 것 그리고 후식을 더하면 됩니다.
It was a surprise to be greeted by Spanish speaking owners. Chinese good prepared by Spanish people??
Since we were too hungry to go somewhere else, we ordered the Gallic Shrimp. The way you order the food is to pick the entry and select sides, drink and desert.
저희점심으로 마늘 소스로 된 새우, 에그 롤, 하얀 밥을 주문했는데 가격이 17불 26전이네요. 맛은 그런데로 괜찮은 편이었는데 (저희들이 너무 기대를 안해서인지도 모르지만) 가격에 비해서는 좀 모자르는 편입니다.
Our lunch with Gallic Shrimp, Egg roll and white Rice was $17.26. The food was surprisingly decent (I guess my expectation was low), but it wasn't as good for the price.
** Fuji Buffet and Grill (후지 부페와 구운 요리)

전에 있던 부페집이 분닫고 새로 생겼다고해서 찾아가 보았습니다. 식당은 꽤 크고요 깨끗하더군요. 음식 종류는 다른 부페 집에 비해 가지 수가 적지만 질은 조금 나아보입니다. 주로 일식, 중식들인데 중국 음식들은 별로 였지만 스시는 다른 집들 보다 좋았습니다. 먹다 보니 시진 찍는 것도 앚었네요.
They said new owner opened this restaurant after previous restaurant was closed. The place is very large, but it was clean. The variety was less than other buffet restaurants, but the quality seems better than others. Maybe because it is new. The dishes are mainly Japanese and Chinese dishes. Chinese dish aren't any better than other restaurants, but the sushi was made better and tasty. It is a place to try at least once.
Honey Pig (꿀돼지)

공항에서 숙박지로 가는데 꿀돼지가 가깝다고 하고 소문만 들었지 아직 먹어 보질 못해 들렸습니다. 고기 굽는 것이 특히하게 솥뚜껑이네요. 거기에 콩나믈 무침과 김치를 얹어 주는데 6명이 맛있게 먹고 77불 72전을 냈어요. 너무 먹어 나중에 남은 음식과 야채를 넣어 볶아주는 볶음밥은 맛만 봤네요.
Since our friends told us that Honey Pig is on our way to hotel and we haven't tried this place, we decide to stop for late dinner. It was only place I saw using caldron lid as a grill. It's different and no problem grilling the meat. Our bill was $77.72 for six of us for the food we filled our stomach. We were so full, we were only able to taste the fried rice which they make all of the left overs and a little additional lettuce.

** Seoul Tofu House (순두부집) - 이번에는 육계장(8불 99전)을 먹었는데 질이 많이 떨어졌네요.
** Galleria Chicken (두리분식) - 만두국을 먹었는데 정말 별로였습니다.
Love Sushi (러브스시)(문닫았네요) - 스시, 우동 캄보는 여전했음.
Gong Hwa Chun (공화춘) - 주인이 바뀐듯. 짜장 맛이 전 보다 못함.
Pho 8 - 새로 문을 연 월남 국수 집인듯. 먹어 보지는 않았음.
Shik Do Rak Valley (식도락): 18434 Devonshire St, Northridge
이번에는 벨리쪽에서는 구이로 알려져 있에 5명이 5인분 고기를 (부페식이 아님) 시켰는데 저희들이 양이 적어서인지 먹고 남을 정도이던군요. 고기 맛도 괜찮았고 밑반찬들도 대부분 괜찮은 편이었으며 떡보쌈은 추천할만 합니다. 구이와 함께 시킨 된장찌게와 냉면은 고기 먹고 입맛 다시기에는 괜찮았지만 더 잘하는 식당들이 많을 듯합니다.

이번에는 솥밥, 군만두, 된장찌게를 먹었습니다. 솥밥은 고기가 안들은 돌솥 비빕밥인데 누릉지가 맛 있었습니다. 군만두도 맛있게 먹었습니다 단 된장찌게는 글쎄요 입니다.
Nae Go Hyang (내고향 해물 손칼국수): 3516 West 8th St Los Angeles 90005 (213-382-0022)
이번 방문에는 멸치칼국수, 해물전과 육계장 만두국을 사가지고 와서 먹었습니다. 한가지 배운 것은 사가지고 갈 때 국수와 만두를 따로 포장 해달라고 하십시오. 그러면 집에와 데워 먹을 때 국수와 만두가 풀어지지 않으니깐요. 멸치칼국수와 해물전은 맛 있었는데 육게장은 별로 였습니다.

다른 음식점을 찾다 시간이 없어 들렸습니다. 떡복기는 약간 덜 달았으면 좋았을 것이고 김치만두는 직접 만든 것인데 맛은 별로 였습니다.

점심으로 짜장면, 탕수육를 먹었는데 짜장면은 여전히 괜찮은데 탕수육은 별로 였습니다. 분위기도 괜찮고 또 들릴만한 곳입니다. 대리 주차장이 건물 뒤에 있습니다.
Young King (연경): 3100 W Olympic Blvd Los Angeles 90006
저희들이 도착했을 때 막 점심 시간이 시작하였는데 벌써 식당이 반 이상 차 있었습니다. 바빠서인지 짜장면은 전보다 못했지만 소스가 따로 나오는 탕수육(꼭 한국식을 시키십시오) (14불95)은 맛있게 먹었습니다. 새우 깐풍기 (16불 95)도 괜찮았어요. 주차장이 건물 뒤에 있지만 바쁜 시간에는 어려울 뜻 합니다.

꽤 맛도 있고 많이 알려져 있다하여 점심 시간에 들렸는데 도시락과 스시 스페셜은 생각보다 못했습니다. 생선들이 생각보다 신선하지 못했고 도시락에 나온 고등어는 말라있었습니다.

찹쌀 도넛이 맛있다는 올리브 빵집을 찾았는데 빵집이 바뀌어 보스코 빵집이 있었습니다. 케익은 맛을 보지 못했지만 빵들은(타피오카 도넛, 팥빵, 고로케) 특별한 것은 없었습니다. 근처에 있으면 들려도 멀리서 찾아 갈 정도는 아니었습니다.
New Town Buffet (뉴 타운 부페): 1100 N San Fernando Blvd Burbank 91054
메뉴는 다른 중국 부페와 별로 다른 것이 없었으나 굴 음식이 다른 곳보다 많았습니다. 그리고 몽골리안 바베큐가 양념 선택은 적었지만 맛있게 먹었습니다. 맛은 자주 갈 정도는 아니지만 가끔은 갈만한 곳입니다. 실내 장식은 다른 중국 부페 집들과 비슷하고 주차는 문제 없습니다.
Claim Jumper (클레임 점퍼): 9429 Tampa Ave Northridge CA 91324
이 식당은 주로 미국 서부에 있는 연쇄점인데 켈리포니아에도 여러 장소에 있습니다. 음식은 틸라피아 (Tilapia Bianca), 양파 숩과 살라드 (Onion soup & salad), 돼지갈비 (Pork full rack)을 주분했는데 틸라피아는 보통 정도였으나 돼지 갈비는 아주 좋았습니다. 양파 숩은 다른 식당보다 덜 짠 것이 우리 입에는 딱 좋았는데 살라드는 특별한 것은 없었습니다. 들린 날이 금요일 저녁이어서인지 20분 정도 기다려야 했습니다. 주차장은 식당이 쇼핑 센터에 있어 문제가 없을 것입니다.
LA 에는 여러 한국장이 있는데 저희들은 밑 반찬 거리를 살 때 시온 마켙(Zion Market, 3500 W 6th St LA)을 주로 사용합니다. 군것질 감도 많구요.
발 지압을 받아본 것이 기억나 한 번 더 갔었습니다. 가격은 올라서 30불(한시간)에 팁($10)입니다. 팁이 적으면 싸우기도 한다니 후하게 주세요.
Ginza Sushi (긴자스시) -폐업
도시락이 꽤 맛 있었는데 문을 닫았다고하여 섭섭하였습니다.

Restaurants we visited during our last visit to Los Angeles, California. They include Korean, Chinese, Japanese, American and Bakery. It is updated with new restaurants we tried and reviews for the restaurants we tried before.
Galleria Market (갤러리아 마켓): Devonshire St and Reseda Blvd
It seems that the food court is a place for either quick lunch or dinner including the take-out after grocery stop for the locals.
** Seoul Tofu House (순두부집) - On this visit, we tried Yukgaejang(spicy beef soup) (8불 99전). The quality of food took the downhill.
** Galleria Chicken (두리분식) - Do not try the Dumpling soup. It was below average.
Love Sushi (러브스시) (Closed)- Sushi and U-dong combo is still good for the price.
Gong Hwa Chun (공화춘) - New owner(?) and noodle with black bean source (짜장면) was not good as before.
Pho 8 - New restaurant with Vietnamese dishes. We did not try it.
Shik Do Rak Valley (식도락): 18434 Devonshire St, Northridge (818-832-7080)
Since the place is better known with BBQ in the area. five of us ordered the set menu for 5 (it is not all you can eat) . The quantity of meat was more than enough for five of us. The meats were tasty and the side dishes were better than average. Tteok Bossam (rice cake) is good enough to recommend. If you go with friends (meaning few people), BBQ is pretty good choice. We have tried Yook-Gae-Jang (spicy beef and vegetable soup) and Naeng-Myun (cold noodle soup) and we will not be going back for them. Deon-Jang-Ji-Ge (soup made with Korean miso) and Naeng-Myun (cold noodle soup) we order with BBQ was good enough after eating the beef, but we won't be ordering just those dishes. The interior is an average
Duk Su Jang (덕수장): (Could not very if they are closed permanently) 7126 Van Nuys Blvd Van Nuys (818-989-7791)
We ordered Sot Bap(솥밥), Fried dumpling(군만두), and Bean paste tofu casserole(된장찌게). Sot Bop is bibimbap without meat in hot container. The hot container scorches the bottom of rice (누릉지) and it tastes better. Fried dumpling was good, but Bean paste tofu casserole was an below average dish.
Nae Go Hyang (내고향 해물 손칼국수): 3516 West 8th St Los Angeles 90005 (213-382-0022)
On this visit, we took out the anchovy based noodle soup (멸치칼국수), seafood pancake (해물전) and Spicy beef dumpling soup (육계장 만두국). For the take out, you could ask to package the noodle and dumpling separate from the soup. You could then heat them with soup at home. The anchovy kal gook su and seafood pancake were OK, but I had better Spicy beef soup.
Sister's Hawaiian BBQ (자매만두): 4220 Beverly Bl LA 90004
We stopped at this restaurant because we could not find the restaurant we were looking for and we were in hurry. Rice cake(떡복기) could be better if it is less sweet. They made their own Kim-chi dumpling (김치만두), but it could have been better. The price is very reasonable, but the parking could be a problem.

We ordered Jja-Jang-Myun (noodle with black), and Sweet & sour pork for the lunch. Jja-Jang-Myun is still tasty, but we had better Sweet & sour pork at other places. The valet parking only is available in the back of building.
Young King (연경): 3100 W Olympic Blvd Los Angeles 90006
We got there as they prepared to open for the lunch and the place was more than half full in few minutes. We don't know, because it was busy, Jja-Jang-Myun wasn't good as last time we ate here. But Korean style Sweet & sour pork ($14.95) served with separate source is quite good. You have to ask for Korean style. Otherwise, you get fusion style which is not as good as Korean style. Fried shrimp with sweet and spicy source ($16.95) was also good. There are parking space in the back, but it could be a problem when they are busy.

This place was well known and had good reviews. Fir the lunch, we ordered Bynto (도시락) and Sushi Special. They were a little disappointment. Fish was not as fresh as I expected and mackerel in Bynto was dry.

We were looking for Olive bakery with the glutinous donut, but it was changed to Bosco bakery. The reviews recommended the cakes, but we have tried Tapioka sticky rice donut, Sweet rice donut and Crocket. They were good enough to stop by if you are near the place, but we won't be traveling there just for the donuts.
New Town Buffet (뉴 타운 부페) 1100 N San Fernando Blvd Burbank 91054
Their food selection was typical Chinese buffet food except oysters. Their serving of oyster dishes were plentiful and tasty except some were not fresh. Mongolian BBQ was surprisingly good when there were not a lot of choices of spices. Overall, we may go back once in a while. The interior was also typical Chinese buffet place and the parking won't be a problem.
Claim Jumper (클레임 점퍼) 9429 Tampa Ave Northridge CA 91324
Claim Jumper is a chain restaurant located mostly in western united states and there are number of locations in California. We tried Tilapia Bianca (틸라피아), Onion soup & salad (양파 숩과 살라드), Pork full rack (돼지갈비). Pork rib was excellent, but Tilapia was average and it was cooked a little dry. We liked the onion soup for our taste that it is less salty than that of other places. All-you-can-eat salad was nothing special. We had to wait about 20 minutes (it may be normal for Friday evening?), but the parking is no problem since the restaurant is in the shopping center.
There are several Korean super markets and Zion market (3500 W 6th St LA) is our preferred market to purchase the ingredients for Korean side dishes. Another incentive for Zion market is the number of food taste stations.
Since the foot massage was very relaxing last time, we all decided to try it again. The price went up and it was $30 for one hour plus tip. I heard that you should give a good tip ($10) unless you want to be harassed by the employees.
Ginza Sushi (긴자스시) - Closed
We were sorry to hear that this place was out of business. Their Bynto (도시락) was excellent.
